It's a New York City architect's dream come true. Amy Armstrong has just inherited the ruins of a three-hundred-year-old stone farmhouse. But there's a reason she finds the property in pieces when she arrives in Covenant Parish, Pennsylvania to claim it. If you love Shirley Jackson's The Lottery, Stephen King's The Shining, or Ira Levin's Rosemary's Baby, don't miss this harrowing tale of family, farmland, and fear - Haven House. Amy Armstrong is a pregnant Manhattan architect who inherits the ultimate restoration project-a 300-year-old farmhouse. She views the project and the rural town as a chance to start anew after a terrible assault. But there is some information about this inheritance, this property, and even the baby she's carrying that the townspeople don't want her to know. Something evil, and on a very grand scale.

I was very impressed by this book. Being a lover of all things paranormal and a haunted house/ghost story junkie, I can say without a doubt that this is a masterfully written tale. The author did a great job of creating the town and fleshing out the characters that we come to know throughout the course of the story. As chilling and suspenseful as it is entertaining, it's a perfect example of a good book not needing a happy ending to be a success, and perhaps even being successful because of that. What's even better is the moral dilemmas our characters, and we as the readers are faced with. When do we cross the line between what is unthinkable and what is necessary? Does knowing what's coming make it any easier, and do you really know those around you? This author did an outstanding job of allowing us to experience the story with the characters while not giving anything away. Great twists and unexpected surprises make this a thoroughly enjoyable read.

This is a quintessential story arc, taken to a new level. I always love stories about the creepy town with the insiders that know something that the protaganista does not. Great fodder. This book does a great job of leading you down the path. Some of the moments are too over the top, but overall, I found it quite enjoyable. I know you will, too. Read it.
Enjoyed the author style. Book not scary but interesting concept.
This was a entertaing read and kept my interest. It was kind of distracting because this book was similiar to another one i read by another author. Although I it kept my interest I didn't think it was very original. I did read an excerpt of indelible and that am intrigued.
Wow! What a great read! I would definitely encourage anyone who likes a good suspense/horror story to get it. The plot takes a few original twists that are surprising and keep you hooked to the very end... which I totally didn't see coming until I got there. It was awesome and I'll definitely look for other books by this author!
I must say this book is good. Perfect farm town setting and city girl returning. I was very surprised by the ending that I wasn't expecting. I did love the action and suspense that followed the book. This book is a preferred read for Halloween. I recommend this book for all.
Haven House was a fun read with a fresh idea. The book had many events that were not the predictable "it happens in every story". That fact alone made the book quite refreshing. All the characters were lovable,(even those on a love to hate basis) with strong personalities. Some of the cutaway scenes were a bit confusing until the end when the whole story started falling into place. This book gives you a whole new perspective on close-knit communities and what most would consider a beautiful place. There are some scenes that are a bit gruesome and not for the faint of heart but for those interested in horror and paranormal this book is a must read.
This story involves a husband, wife and the husbands nephew who move to the country onto property the wife has recently inherited. Soon after the move, and once the remnants of the original house have been put together again the wife soon realizes that her family is in great danger. Won't say more as I hate to put spoilers out there. The story was somewhere between good and just ok, spelling errors and grammatical problems abound which took away from my overall enjoyment of the story. The backstory was fairly interesting though. I guess I just wasn't fully on board with this one. -/
